Since being hired with Sunbelt Rentals I have worked as a Shop Mechanic at multiple locations, a Dispatcher, and currently a Road Technician with PC826.

I had heard of Sunbelt Rentals prior to joining the military but did not have the experience or credentials to obtain employment prior to joining the Army.

I grew up in Lodi, CA, and joined the U.S. Army soon after graduating high school. Stationed on Ft. Campbell as a 63B (wheeled vehicle mechanic) and deploying for a first tour in Iraq, I achieved the rank of Sargent E-5, and an Air Assault graduate. I served honorably and after just over 4 years pursued civilian employment. After working as a civilian contractor on Ft Benning, GA, I put my profile and background on Placement USA. Only a few days later, I was contacted by the management team at PC065 out of Coral Springs at that time and an interview was scheduled in Atlanta, GA. After interviewing with multiple companies I accepted a job as a Shop Mechanic at PC065 because the equipment at Sunbelt correlated closely to the equipment and skills I gained working for the Army.

I am currently in my 12th year with Sunbelt and I have been to multiple equipment sponsored schools, worked in multiple roles including dispatching, road tech, and a shop tech. I have learned valuable skills such as welding, recovering completely damaged equipment, computer software updates on equipment, and cutting edge technical skills such as tier 4 engine training and updated DOT regulations. Throughout my time at Sunbelt, I have been recognized consistently for outstanding performance.

I wouldn't trade the experiences I’ve had the last 12 years for anything. Moving forward, I am enrolling at Indian River State College to pursue a business degree to further my career at Sunbelt as a Service Manager and eventually a PCM. I would recommend Sunbelt as a great company to join for anyone with technical proficiency directly out of the military or generally recommend Sunbelt as a great company to join for anyone with technical proficiency directly out of the military or generally anyone who has a great work ethic and a commitment to excellence.
