Job Description Summary

The VP, Operational Excellence is responsible for leading, developing and deploying strategy to achieve optimal operational efficiency for the Sunbelt Rentals (SBR) enterprise. This position will constantly evaluate how things are done at SBR and suggest new ways of working, resulting in improved performance in key financial and operational metrics. This leader will provide strategic vision and framework leading to process enhancement inclusive of workforce optimization in a scalable and repeatable fashion. 



Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategies to optimize operational efficiency, productivity and performance across SBR. Including our network of rental locations and our central support office.  

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Provide leadership to the Operational Excellence (Op Ex) team, fostering a high-performance work environment.

  • Utilize Voice of the Customer and Design Thinking principles to deliver effective enterprise solutions to optimize processes and systems.

  • Lead change management initiatives in collaboration with all stakeholders.

  • Oversee prioritization and communication of Op Ex objectives.

  • Track and broadly communicate operational performance through KPIs.

  • Implement process to evaluate, prioritize and eliminate both internal and external customer pain points.

  • Ensure resource optimization across SBR to maximize efficiency and minimize costs. 

  • Participate in strategic planning activities in support of SBR’s long-term goals.

  • Ensure services meet quality standards and customer expectations.



Requirements:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience plus 10+ years of progressive experience in operational leadership. 

  • Demonstrated experience of operational excellence methodologies and process improvement frameworks leading to enterprise-scale strategy and transformation.

  • Exceptional skills related to project/program management and implementation.

  • Proficient in data analysis.

  • Experience in leading enterprise-scale change initiatives to ensure smooth transitions and maximum adoption.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong influencing and strategic thinking skills.

  • Candidates with an advanced degree preferred.



Physical Demands:

Must be able to bend, squat, crouch and/or reach and lift up to 25 pounds or more, as required by the job.  Some Sunbelt jobs may require driving for long periods of time, loading and unloading heavy equipment, performing work in extreme weather conditions including rain, wind, or excessive temperatures and/or night and weekend work.  All duties must be performed according to Sunbelt’s safety policies and guidelines.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to comply with ADA/ADAAA.
