Job Description Summary

The Sr. Manager, HRIS & Workday Optimization oversees transformational efforts of Workday. This includes focus on North America operations, as well as the U.K., Canada and other countries as necessary.

The Sr. Manager, HRIS & Workday Optimization reports to the Global Director of HRIS and leads a team including the Manager, HRIS Production Support, Data Management Specialist, Business Analysts, Data Management and Reporting Manager, and an HRIS Program Specialist.

This role will serve as the primary leader to create and deliver plans and roadmaps for Workday system improvement and remediation to better serve the needs of the business – ultimately optimizing Workday for users, HR and the business. The areas of focus include, but are not limited to the following: reconfiguring organizational structure, security architecture, and foundational aspects of Workday (HCM module for example); managing system enhancements (once current state is stable); plans to implement new system capabilities (once current state is stable); define and make usable analytics and dashboards to foster improved business decisions and; overall improving the employee and manager user experience.

This role partners across HR and HRIS leaders to develop solutions that improve and deliver upon an optimized Workday platform.



Position Responsibilities:

  • Creates plans and roadmaps to improve the company’s Workday platform
  • Remediates current state of Workday and implements solutions to improve the Workday experience to include: reconfiguring organizational structure, security architecture, and foundational aspects of Workday (HCM module for example); managing system enhancements (once current state is stable); plans to implement new system capabilities (once current state is stable); define and make usable analytics and dashboard to foster improved business decisions and; overall improving the employee and manager user experience. 
  • Oversees external vendor partner responsible for the delivery of an optimized Workday system for Sunbelt Rentals – this includes but is not limited to: provides direction and feedback to all the vendor’s resources; sets priorities for vendor; facilitates regular cadences for combined (internal and external) team collaboration and; ensures business requirements and testing are well-executed to established standards.
  • Leads a business analyst who act as the technical interface between the HR functional areas and external Workday resources to shape solutions and ensure effective operation of HRIS.
  • Offers a continuous improvement lens to all processes within the HRIS team and HR Operations; serves as a key people leader on the HR Operations team, partnering across HR to deliver streamlined service and great team member care.
  • Identify technical requirements and manage implementation dependencies and system modifications with various systems teams
  • Support change management and user adoption activities
  • Assist and/or conducts internal audits and reviews to ensure data integrity and compliance with all regulations policies, practices and operating procedures.


Requirements:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor ’s degree in business, Human Resources, Information systems or Computer Science or equivalent experience plus 8+ years of experience and knowledge of Workday (across multiple products) and extensive knowledge of HR business processes and functions
  • 5+ years of experience leading a team, including ongoing mentorship, goal setting and holding teams accountable
  • Demonstrated, extensive experience implementing and maintaining Workday
  • Demonstrated experience managing data in Workday; providing operational oversight to HR functional changes within Workday
  • Workday post implementation experience required
  • Knowledge of IIBA /PMI – Business Analysis Standards and/or equivalent certification preferred
  • Demonstrated ability and experience implementing HRIS standards such as: business requirement gathering, compliance activities and testing strategies
  • Demonstrated ability and experience translating business needs into written technical business requirements
  • Experience with waterfall and agile project methodologies
  • Experience with Jira/Confluence preferred
  • Experience working with and overseeing outsourced vendors a plus
  • Exceptional analytical ability, strong technical, problem solving and business intelligence skills
  • Must thrive in a fast-paced environment where multi-tasking and prioritizing is necessary
  • Experience with Structured Query Language (SQL) or similar tools a plus


Physical Demands:

Must be able to bend, squat, crouch and/or reach and lift up to 25 pounds or more, as required by the job.  Some Sunbelt jobs may require driving for long periods of time, loading and unloading heavy equipment, performing work in extreme weather conditions including rain, wind, or excessive temperatures and/or night and weekend work.  All duties must be performed according to Sunbelt’s safety policies and guidelines.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to comply with ADA/ADAAA.

Base Pay Range: $138,850.00 - 190,918.20
