Job Description Summary

Are you looking for an opportunity to be part of movie production? Sunbelt Film & TV, previously known as William F. White International Inc. (“WFW), the largest movie equipment rental company, is looking for a Fabric Associate to join us. With offices across the country, Sunbelt Film & TV services productions of all sizes from coast to coast and houses an extensive state-of-the-art inventory. Our job is to help bring the magic of storytelling to life, by supporting our clients as their go-to Partners in Production.

The Fabric Associate ensures fabric orders are proceeded in a safe and efficient manner to meet manufacturer’s specifications. And this a full-time, permanent position located in Burnaby.

Responsibilities as Fabric Associate

  • Assist in pulling fabric orders based on production request and label bags by product type and by job name to aid in identification.
  • Perform minor repairs to fabric by patching holes and replacing sash.
  • Wash and dry fabric as needed to ensure the quality and serviceability of the product is maintained.
  • Assist in the Grading of the fabric’s quality and processing of all forms of flags, nets, and frames daily.
  • Keeps manager of inventory control appraised of all unresolved and/or potential problems that would negatively affect inventory.
  • Advise Supervisor, Grip Dept. of problems arising due to improper use of gear and technical issues with interoffice transfers.
  • Provide Supervisor, Grip Dept. with detailed breakdown and photographic evidence of all Loss and Damages as applied
  • Other duties as required.

Education/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities you may rely on:  

  • Working knowledge of RTPro as rental track tool
  • Understanding and knowledge of fabric as film equipment
  • Ability to work under pressure, and to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent numeric skills
  • Sewing skills are an asset

The physical demands of this role require bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors/outdoors when required by the job.
